Australian author, Pauline Yates, writes horror and speculative fiction, but doesn’t mind a dash of dark humour, or slipping into the world of fantasy. Her short stories have appeared in Metaphorosis, Abyss & Apex, Aurealis, Black Hare Press, Redwood Press, and elsewhere. She is a regular participant in the NYC Midnight writing challenges, and was the short story category winner in the 2020 AHWA Flash Fiction and Short Story Competition.

When she’s not burning the midnight candle researching ideas, she loves watching apocalypse movies, debates with anyone who’ll listen about how dystopian societies start, and argues with her cat about his need for breakfast at 3am. She also enjoys taking photos of the sunrise, if she wakes up in time.

Pauline can be found on Twitter@midnightmuser1 where she enjoys participating in monthly writing prompts with the crew from #AusWrites, and chatting about all and anything writing related.
